|It’s natural we want to spoil our loved ones (and ourselves!) with some new electricals and tech for Christmas. But did you know:|
Every year between Black Friday and Christmas the UK buys a massive 53.5 million electrical items That includes a whopping 7 million blenders for our New Years health kicks And 5 million wifi boosters as we continue to work from home
But what happens to all the old gear that Santa has replaced?
This New Year we’ll throw away or hoard over 5 million electricals that are now unwanted as a result of Christmas spending. These electricals would have a £160 million donation value that could help those in need.
The answer? Give-Back January
This year we are urging the nation to give back their old electricals to someone who needs them. It’s the perfect antidote to the indulgences of Christmas!
Join broadcaster and former Loose Women host Andrea McLean and her husband Nick Feeney as they box up their old electricals ready for donation – as well as a host of other social media influencers getting involved across January.

Keen to get involved?
All you need to do is pop your unwanted electricals in a bag or a box until lockdown lifts and you can find your nearest donation or recycling point. We’d love to see and share photos of the electricals you find – just use the hashtag #GiveBackJanuary
We’ll be pushing the message out through our website, PR, and our own social media channels so keep an eye out!
